Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Please read the following important information regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus

The Centre is working to ensure the health and safety of all patrons and staff is maintained. We want to address the growing fears around the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and share with you the information we have at the current time.

We are working to ensure our centre remains a safe place to visit and work. The health and safety of our community is our main priority, we always uphold a high standard of hygiene within the centre, however are taking extra precautions during this time.

We hope you will do what you can to take care of yourself and those around you, we also encourage you to use and support our community facility with confidence while it is safe to do so.

Please see the latest update on the situation below.

Remember if you are feeling unwell or showing symptoms of the flu, cough or cold to please remain away from the centre until you are feeling 100%.

Update - 25/06/2021

Great news! We are back to normal! 

  • As per State Government directive, further easing of restrictions will happen from Friday 25-June. 

  • The pools will open 6:00am Friday 25 June, with swimming lessons starting Monday 28 June

  • We will continue to follow density limits in accordance with Government directives, at this stage bookings are still in place for the centre.

  • Here is what you need to know: 

  • All Memberships will recommence from Friday 25 June 

  • Our health club and group fitness classes are back to normal from Friday 25 June – bookings via the Active World App

  • Pool access will begin Friday 25 June – bookings required via the Active World App 

  • QR check-in is mandatory   

  • Mask must be worn except when participating in exercise that causes you to be out of breath.

Update - 18/06/2021

We’re thrilled to inform you that the Government restrictions have lifted in Metro VIC, and we are all set to officially open from Friday 18 June! 

This means, as a community, we can start moving together again! 

We will re-open with density limits in accordance with Government directives. Please check our timetable and refer to signage in our Centre for details. 

Bookings will be required to access our facility and programs at this time. Following social distancing rules and the state regulations, we are limited to the number of people in each room and class as well as the venue overall. Please see your Active World App to book your session.

Masks will be required indoors and outdoors where people cannot physically distance. Your face mask must be worn when visiting our centre except when exercising or drinking. 

Your Memberships 

Your membership will stay on suspension unless you choose to reactivate. You can do so by emailing us on mpl@activewhittlesea.com.au 

Casual visits can be purchased upon entry. 

Here is what you need to know: 

  • Group Fitness classes will recommence from Friday June 18   

  • Health Club will reopen Friday June 18 with limited capacity  

  • Your will require booking in advance, please check our home page as required. 

  • QR check-in is mandatory

Update - 09/06/2021

Following the State Government directive, lockdown restrictions remain in place for Metro Melbourne, meaning we will remain closed until further Government direction. 

While we have seen some freedom for Metro Victoria, these easing restriction unfortunately do not include Community Leisure facilities like ours.

Restrictions are subject to change in line with the extended circuit breaker lockdown revisions from the State Government.  

Your Membership    

  • Your membership will be placed on a free suspension for the further 7-day closure period. 
  • All future bookings you have made (for the closure period) will be cancelled.   
  • We will contact you once the advised temporary closure period concludes, or as directed by the Government.    
  • We will be giving you FREE access to the Home Fitness Network during the closure period, see below for more information. 

Current Restrictions 

Restrictions still apply in line with circuit breaker lockdown revisions from the State Government. 

  • the five reasons to leave home will no longer apply in metro Melbourne. 
  • the existing 10-kilometre limit will be increased to 25 kilometres. 
  • Travel to regional Victoria is a no go for now. 
  • Restaurants, cafés and pubs will reopen with density limits in place, unfortunately not community leisure facilities like ours. 
  • Restrictions including mask-wearing remain in place. 
  • Victoria QR requirements are mandatory to check-in across the whole of the State

Update - 02/06/21

EXTENDED Circuit Breaker Lockdown

As per State Government directive, the current restrictions will remain in place for a further seven days. We will be closed until Friday 11 June.

This period is subject to change in line with the extended circuit breaker lockdown revisions from the State Government.  

Due to this temporary closure, the following will continue:  

 

Your Membership    

  • Your membership will be placed on a free suspension for the further 7-day closure period. 

  • All future bookings you have made (for the closure period) will be cancelled.   

  • We will contact you once the advised temporary closure period concludes, or as directed by the Government.    

  • We will be giving you FREE access to the Home Fitness Network during the closure period, please check your email for how to claim your access. 

 

What does the EXTENDED circuit breaker lockdown mean? 

You are required to stay home and within 10km of your home, with five exceptions: 

  • Shopping for essentials like groceries, medicine and necessary supplies 

  • Medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable 

  • Exercise within your neighbourhood, with your household members, your intimate partner, or one other person who is not from your household or your partner for up to two hours per day 

  • Authorised work or study 

  • To get your COVID-19 vaccination

I booked in for a session. Will these run as planned? 
Unfortunately, not. Any booked sessions will be cancelled because we must keep our doors until the extended lockdown period concludes. We will keep you updated on re-opening.
